REMIT researchers and professors from the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture of the Portucalense University, Medéia Veríssimo and Makhabbat Ramazanova, recently participated in a round table discussion on the theme “Tourism and Heritage” at the Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid.
The visit was carried out as part of a teaching mobility promoted by the Erasmus+ Programme, reinforcing the commitment of the Portucalense University to internationalisation and European academic cooperation.
On the occasion, the professors presented two projects developed within the scope of REMIT:
- EFETH – Human Capital Management: Education, Training and Employability in Tourism and Hospitality, which analyses strategies for the valorisation and qualification of human resources in the tourism sector;
- EURICA – Europe Ritual Cuisine: Digital Presentation and Preservation, a project that aims to preserve and digitally valorise the European ritual culinary heritage.
During the meeting, which took place at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, relevant topics were discussed such as the importance of human capital in the tourism sector and the need to preserve cultural heritage in the face of contemporary challenges.
