Territories and Organisations for Sustainable Development (TOSD)

Universities, as creators of knowledge, contribute to the resolution of problems and societal challenges faced by organisations and these are open systems that exist in a broad ecosystem that is the territory. This research group brings together diversified knowledge and skills present at the Universidade Portucalense, fundamentally in two of its departments: Economics and Management and Tourism and Cultural Heritage. The approach to the different themes is admittedly multi and interdisciplinary, studying the way business or third sector organisations develop and create economic and social value, thus contributing to the sustainable development of the physical, social and human territory. At the basis of all the issues studied are the great strategic challenges faced by the organisations and economic agents that make up the territory, integrating areas such as tourism and heritage into the basic questions of business management and strategy.
