On February 21st, the “Ordem dos Arquitetos” – Northern Regional Section hosted the Multiplier Event of the SNAP+ project – Photogrammetry Aided Surveying in Heritage Management, an ERASMUS+ initiative led by REMIT-UPT. Under the theme “Innovation in Photogrammetry for Heritage Management”, the event highlighted the impact of photogrammetry on heritage preservation, presenting the main results of the project. The opening was in charge of Arch. Célia Mota, the Director of REMIT, Luís Pacheco and Professor Joana Alegria Quintela, Coordinator of the project, introduced and highlighted the relevance of the initiative.
Created to respond to the growing need for educational resources in photogrammetric surveys, SNAP+ developed an interactive tool with illustrated content, facilitating the learning of good practices and the optimization of the information collected.
During the event, the project’s teachers and researchers, Gilberto Carlos and Ana Lima, presented the project’s Homepage and the Photure Handbook, a practical guide with the best methodologies and results obtained. The program also included a webinar, led by architect Maj Juvanec, from the Vernacularne Arhitekture Institute (Slovenia), which explored the fundamentals of photogrammetry and its application in the conservation of vernacular built heritage. This event brought together professionals, academics and students, becoming a space for sharing and updating knowledge, promoting innovation in the preservation of architectural heritage through photogrammetry.
We would like to formalize our thanks to Professor Rui Florentino, from DAMG, for his collaboration in organizing this event.
