Researcher from REMIT participates in the XIX International Conference on Major Issues in the European Space

Helena Albuquerque, teacher at Universidade Portucalense and researcher at REMIT – Research on Economics, Management and Information Technologies, participated as a guest speaker at the XIX International Conference on Major Issues in the European Space, which took place between 17 and 21 June 2025, at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto (FLUP).
Her intervention was part of Round Table I – “Territorial planning for climate-resilient tourist destinations: from practice to action”, held on 17 June, between 2:00 pm and 3:10 pm, within the scope of the event’s central theme: “Crisis Management, Climate Change and Territories”. The session was organised by Hélder da Silva Lopes, from the University of Minho, and was attended by experts from several national and international institutions.

Under the title “Training to Transform: Tourism and Climate Challenges”, the lecturer shared reflections on the role of education and capacity building in planning more resilient and sustainable tourist destinations, addressing strategies for adapting to climate change and examples of good national practices.
