
Best Paper Award
Helena Albuquerque, a researcher at REMIT – Research on Economics, Management and Information Technologies, was awarded the Best Paper Award at the DSOTT 2025 International Conference – Diversity and Sustainability: Opportunities and Threats on Tourism, held from June 4 to 6 at the University of Coimbra.
The award was given for the paper “Water Resources and Tourism in Water-Scarce Regions: The Case of the Algarve and the Alentejo Coast (Portugal),” co-authored with Isabel Paiva (University of Coimbra) and Hélder Lopes (University of Minho), under the theme Climate Change, Water Resources and Sustainability.
This distinction recognizes the scientific relevance of the work presented and reinforces REMIT’s commitment to research focused on the challenges of sustainability in tourism, while also highlighting the value of cooperation among Portuguese higher education institutions.
