Access to the Deucalion supercomputer
Portucalense University recently gained access to the Deucalion supercomputer, one of the most advanced high-performance computing infrastructures in Portugal, provided by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). This milestone represents a strategic opportunity to enhance research projects that require significant processing capacity, particularly in the areas of data science, artificial intelligence, computer simulation, and advanced modeling. Deucalion, inaugurated in 2023, is a centerpiece of the National Advanced Computing Network (RNCA), positioning Portugal on the international supercomputing scene. The infrastructure accelerates scientific discoveries, supports technological innovation, and contributes to the country’s competitiveness in the digital and green transition. Access to Deucalion reinforces our institution’s ability to develop cutting-edge research and collaborate on national and international projects that require computing resources on a global scale. With this achievement, Portucalense University prepares to explore new horizons in science and innovation, benefiting researchers, students, and partners who will now be able to leverage their projects using one of the most powerful machines in the world.
