Workers’ skills and their contribution to the SMEs’ business model
Summary
Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Portugal and Europe face a growing challenge: finding workers with the necessary skills and retaining qualified professionals. This situation becomes even more complex as companies anticipate the need for new skills to address the challenges of the coming years.
This study aims to: (1) identify gaps or new research areas that support more in-depth and/or complementary investigative approaches; and (2) analyze the relationship between the difficulty in finding workers with the required skills and retaining qualified employees, and its impact on the success of the business model of European and Portuguese SMEs.
