INTOURIS (INdustrial TOURism as a Catalyst for Innovation and Sustainability in Industrial Companies)
Summary
This research project explores how industrial tourism can boost innovation and sustainability in industrial companies, positioning it as a strategic tool to increase competitiveness and promote sustainable practices. Industrial tourism, which encompasses visits to active or deactivated industrial facilities, is increasingly recognized as a potential strategic asset for companies, offering opportunities to diversify operations and services, interact with broader audiences, and implement sustainable models.
This study aims to analyse the mechanisms through which industrial tourism promotes innovation, increases sustainability, and contributes to the long-term competitiveness of industrial companies. It aims to employ mixed methods approaches, combining qualitative case studies and quantitative research to assess the economic, social, and environmental impacts of integrating industrial tourism into business strategies. With the study’s conclusions, we intend to identify concrete proposals that can contribute to implementing industrial tourism in companies, boosting sustainability and innovation, and increasing their competitiveness.
