Leadership in the organizational context – What really matters?
Summary
Organizational leadership is constantly dynamic, requiring leaders to adapt to constant changes in the internal and external environment. The Situational Leadership Theory by Hersey and Blanchard suggests that the leader must adjust his style according to the maturity and needs of his team, moving between more directive or delegative approaches, depending on the context. In parallel, spiritual leadership brings a perspective focused on emotional connection and developing an organizational environment centered on values, such as empathy, purpose, and collective well-being, generating more involved and motivated teams.
In the current leadership landscape, using artificial intelligence (AI) presents challenges and opportunities. AI offers tools for automation and data analysis. However, leaders must be sensitive to its ethical and human impacts, balancing technology with communication skills and emotional intelligence. Furthermore, managing teams, which are often dispersed and culturally diverse, imposes the need to lead, maintain cohesion, and foster a collaborative environment. Therefore, the modern leader needs to integrate these approaches, being adaptable and strategically prepared to guide their teams towards today’s rapid technological and social transformations.
